Formula Used
Scheduled Finish = Start Time + Target Paid Minutes + Overtime Minutes + Unpaid Break Minutes
Rounded Finish = Next selected rounding block after the scheduled finish time
Completed Paid Minutes = (End Time - Start Time) - Unpaid Break Minutes
Remaining Paid Minutes = Planned Paid Minutes - Completed Paid Minutes
Balance = Completed Paid Minutes - Planned Paid Minutes
Paid breaks remain inside paid hours, so they do not extend the finish time. Only unpaid breaks extend the planned finish.

FAQs
1. What does this calculator measure?
It estimates your eight-hour workday finish time and compares actual paid time against your target. It also tracks breaks, overtime, remaining time, and overall balance.
2. Do unpaid breaks affect the finish time?
Yes. Unpaid breaks extend the finish time because they are outside paid work. Longer unpaid breaks push the scheduled finish later in the day.
3. Do paid breaks change the finish time?
No. Paid breaks stay inside paid work hours. They are still useful for reporting, comparison, and internal tracking, but they do not extend the projected finish.
4. Can I use this for overtime planning?
Yes. Add extra overtime minutes to increase the planned paid time. The calculator will instantly update the scheduled finish, totals, and chart.
5. Why is the end time optional?
Leaving the end time blank creates a projection only. Entering an end time lets you compare actual paid hours against the planned schedule and target.
6. What happens if my shift crosses midnight?
If the entered end time is earlier than the start time, the calculator treats it as the next day. This supports overnight schedules correctly.
7. What is the rounding option for?
Rounding moves the projected finish to the next selected time block. This helps teams follow standard payroll, scheduling, or attendance rounding rules.
8. What do the CSV and PDF exports include?
The CSV export downloads recent calculation history. The PDF export saves the current result summary and recent history for quick sharing or recordkeeping.
