Example Data Table

Use Case Stock % Target % Final Volume (L) Peroxide Needed (L) Water Needed (L)
Foliar Spray 3.00 0.50 5.000 0.833 4.167
Soil Drench 6.00 0.75 10.000 1.250 8.750
Tool Rinse 3.00 3.00 2.000 2.000 0.000
Seed Soak 3.00 1.00 1.500 0.500 1.000

Formula Used

1. Final Solution Volume = Area × Application Rate × Applications × (1 + Extra Allowance ÷ 100)

2. Stock Peroxide Needed = Final Solution Volume × (Target Concentration ÷ Stock Concentration)

3. Water Needed = Final Solution Volume − Stock Peroxide Needed

4. Active Peroxide Content = Final Solution Volume × (Target Concentration ÷ 100)

This calculator uses the common dilution relationship C1 × V1 = C2 × V2. It helps estimate how much stock peroxide and water are needed to prepare a target gardening mix.

How to Use This Calculator

  1. Choose the gardening task, such as foliar spray, soil drench, or tool rinse.
  2. Enter the stock peroxide concentration from your bottle.
  3. Set the target concentration you want in the final mix.
  4. Enter area, rate, number of applications, and any extra allowance.
  5. Use the custom volume option when you already know the batch size.
  6. Press calculate to show the result directly above the form.
  7. Use the export buttons to save the current result as CSV or PDF.

FAQs

1. What does this hydrogen peroxide calculator do?

It estimates the peroxide and water needed for a target gardening mix. It also helps size the batch using area, spray rate, repeat applications, and extra allowance for overspray or waste.

2. Why do I need stock and target concentration?

Stock concentration is the strength in your bottle. Target concentration is the final strength you want after dilution. The calculator uses both values to determine how much concentrate and water to combine.

3. Can I use area-based planning instead of batch size?

Yes. Leave custom final volume off, then enter area, application rate, number of applications, and extra allowance. The calculator will estimate the final solution volume automatically.

4. What happens if target concentration is higher than stock concentration?

The calculator blocks that result. A diluted mix cannot be stronger than the starting stock without using a stronger source product.

5. Why include extra allowance?

Extra allowance helps cover sprayer dead space, surface runoff, uneven coverage, and small mixing losses. It gives a more practical batch estimate for real garden work.

6. Does this calculator choose the safest treatment strength?

No. It only performs dilution math. Always follow the label, product instructions, and crop-specific guidance before applying any solution to plants, seeds, soil, or tools.

7. What units can I use here?

You can enter area in square meters or square feet. Application rate supports mL per m², L per m², and fluid ounces per square foot. Custom batch size supports liters and US gallons.

8. Can I save the result for records?

Yes. The page includes CSV and PDF export buttons for the current result. You can keep these files for batch notes, greenhouse records, or repeat mixing routines.
