Formula Used

1) Percentage from Marks

Percentage = (Obtained Marks ÷ Total Marks) × 100

2) Linear Method

GPA = (Percentage ÷ 100) × GPA Scale

3) Range Based Method

This method matches the adjusted percentage to preset GPA bands for the selected scale. It is useful when an institution uses bracketed grade points instead of a direct linear conversion.

4) Adjustment

Adjusted Percentage = Base Percentage + Adjustment

FAQs

1) What does this calculator do?

It converts a percentage into GPA using different scales and methods. You can enter a direct percentage or calculate it from marks, then export the result as CSV or PDF.

2) Which GPA scales are available?

The calculator supports 4.0, 4.3, 5.0, and 10.0 scales. It also shows a comparison table so you can quickly see how the same percentage looks across multiple scales.

3) What is the difference between linear and range based conversion?

Linear conversion maps the percentage directly to the selected scale. Range based conversion uses predefined GPA bands, which is useful when institutions assign grade points by brackets.

4) Can I convert marks instead of percentage?

Yes. Choose the marks based entry mode, then enter obtained marks and total marks. The calculator will compute the percentage first and convert it into GPA afterward.

5) What does percentage adjustment mean?

Adjustment lets you add or subtract a small percentage value before conversion. It can help model bonus marks, moderation, or simple what-if scenarios during grade planning.

6) Is the result official?

No. This tool gives an estimate based on the selected settings. Always compare the result with your school, college, university, or board’s official conversion policy before final use.

7) Why is my GPA different from another website?

Different websites use different formulas, GPA bands, pass thresholds, and rounding rules. That is why this calculator offers multiple scales, methods, and decimal settings for better control.

8) Can I download my result?

Yes. After calculation, use the CSV button for spreadsheet-friendly data or the PDF button for a clean printable report that includes the main result and comparison table.
