Concrete jobs rarely use the exact theoretical volume. Waste helps cover over-excavation, spillage, uneven grade, and minor form variations during placement.

4. Are the bag totals exact?

No. Bag totals are planning estimates based on typical yield values. Actual yield can shift with mix type, moisture, compaction, and jobsite handling.

5. Can I use this for deck, fence, and porch posts?

Yes. It works well for many residential pier applications, especially when the concrete section is round and the footing base can be approximated as circular.

6. What if my excavation hole is wider than the tube?

Enter the actual hole dimensions to estimate excavation separately. Concrete volume still follows the filled tube and footing dimensions unless you intentionally pour the full hole.

7. How is rebar length calculated here?

The calculator multiplies the number of vertical bars by pier height, footing thickness, extra bar allowance, and quantity. It is a budgeting estimate, not a structural design check.
