Frequently Asked Questions

1. What does this room price calculator estimate?

It estimates full stay cost, not just the nightly rate. The total can include room pricing, weekend surcharges, guest extras, meal plans, taxes, parking, resort fees, service charges, discounts, and deposits.

2. Can I use it without entering dates?

Yes. Leave the dates blank and enter manual nights. You can also manually set weekend nights, which is helpful for quotes, package planning, or phone reservations.

3. How are weekend nights handled?

If dates are entered, the calculator counts Friday and Saturday nights automatically. If dates are blank, it uses your weekend override value for surcharge calculations.

4. What is the occupancy adjustment percentage?

It models demand-based pricing pressure. A higher occupancy percentage increases the base nightly rate before other fees and taxes are applied.

5. Does the discount reduce taxes too?

Yes. This calculator applies the discount before tax. That means the taxable subtotal is reduced first, and the tax is calculated on the discounted amount.

6. Can I quote multiple rooms together?

Yes. Enter the number of rooms, and the calculator multiplies room-based charges across the stay. It also adjusts included guest allowances by room count.

7. What is average room-night cost?

It is the grand total divided by total room nights. One room for three nights equals three room nights. Two rooms for three nights equals six.

8. Why export CSV or PDF?

Exports help front-desk staff, reservation teams, and guests share a quote quickly. CSV is useful for spreadsheets, while PDF works better for printable booking summaries.
