Calculate your next birthday countdown
Formula used
1. Next birthday date = birthday in the reference year, unless it already passed. If passed, the calculator moves the birthday to the next year.
2. Days remaining = difference in days between the reference date and next birthday. If “include today” is selected, one day is added when appropriate.
3. Weeks remaining = days remaining ÷ 7.
4. Approximate months remaining = days remaining ÷ 30.4375.
5. Age on next birthday = next birthday year − birth year.
6. For February 29 birthdays, non-leap years follow the selected fallback rule: February 28 or March 1.

Frequently asked questions
1. What does this birthday countdown calculator measure?
It measures the time left until your next birthday using days, weeks, approximate months, weekday details, reminder timing, and optional age-based outputs when a birth year is supplied.
2. Can I calculate age on the next birthday?
Yes. Enter your birth year and the calculator estimates your current age, the age you will reach on your next birthday, and the number of days lived up to the reference date.
3. Why is there a reference date field?
The reference date lets you run countdowns for today, a future plan, or a past snapshot. That makes the calculator useful for event planning, reminders, and comparing different scenarios.
4. How does the include today option work?
Exclude today counts only full days after the reference date. Include today adds the current day into the total when the birthday is still ahead, which some people prefer for planning checklists.
5. How are February 29 birthdays handled?
You can choose the fallback rule for non-leap years. The calculator can treat the next observance as February 28 or March 1, depending on your preference.
6. Are the month values exact?
The month figure is approximate because calendar months vary in length. The calculator divides total days by 30.4375, which is the average month length across a year.
7. What can I export with the CSV and PDF buttons?
You can export the calculated birthday summary shown in the results table. This helps with sharing plans, saving countdown records, or keeping printed event-preparation notes.
8. Does timezone selection really matter?
Yes. Timezone selection keeps the reference date aligned with the place where you plan or celebrate, which is helpful when users travel or coordinate events across regions.
