FAQs

1. What does this calculator measure?

It estimates career readiness by comparing your current profile against a target role. It combines skill depth, learning effort, market demand, and supporting career signals into one practical score.

2. What is meant by G Skill here?

Here, G Skill is treated as a growth-skill score. It reflects how prepared you are to grow into a chosen career path and how large your remaining gap appears.

3. Is the readiness score a hiring prediction?

No. It is a planning indicator, not a hiring guarantee. Employers still consider timing, competition, resume quality, referrals, and business needs beyond the values entered here.

4. How should I rate my current skill level?

Use honest evidence. Consider projects completed, autonomy, feedback quality, and whether you can solve real work problems without much help. Avoid rating based only on course completion.

5. Why are portfolio and networking included?

Career movement depends on proof and visibility. A good portfolio shows capability, while networking increases access to opportunities, feedback, and referrals that may accelerate transitions.

6. How often should I recalculate my result?

Monthly works well for most people. Recalculate after finishing major projects, earning certifications, increasing learning time, or changing your target role or timeline.

7. What does the priority index mean?

The priority index estimates how urgent focused improvement is. A higher value usually means your gap is larger, market demand is stronger, or your readiness still needs significant work.

8. Can I use this for promotions too?

Yes. You can treat your next internal level or future role as the target. The calculator is useful for promotions, lateral shifts, and long-term development planning.
